Sources told the Afghan Times that a female doctor, Onzara Zawalzai, and her young son, Mihan Zawalzai, were shot dead by Pakistani forces on Thursday morning, the first day of Eid in Afghanistan, in the Brikot area of Nari district, Kunar province.

More than 24 hours after the incident, their bodies remain at the scene, as local residents say Pakistani soldiers continue firing at anyone attempting to approach, preventing their recovery.

Pakistan has not yet commented on the incidents.

A relative of the victims told the Afghan Times, appealing for help in recovering the bodies.

Meanwhile, both Pakistan and the Taliban have announced a temporary ceasefire during the Eid period, though residents say violence and fear persist in affected areas.
